After seeing this movie last year, when I think of French films, I always think of this one. I think one of the reasons is because of how creepy the psycho (played by Béatrice Dalle) is. Sometimes when I go into a dark room, I make sure she isn’t behind me. Béatrice Dalle’s character is a mysterious woman who comes knocking on a woman named Sarah’s (played by Alysson Paradis) door on Christmas Eve because she wants to use the phone. Sarah’s husband was killed a few months earlier, and not wanting to deal with anyone, she tells the strange woman that her husband is sleeping and that she doesn’t want to be disturbed, but the woman knows better. Later that night after Sarah goes to bed, the woman appears in her room and what happens through the rest of the movie is terrifying. The strange woman is crazy; she goes to any length to get what she wants…which is Sarah’s unborn baby. Some may find it hard to watch this movie, especially pregnant women. This movie is disturbing, and if you’re a fan of horror films, I recommend this one.
