I read To Kill a Mockingbird months ago for the first time, and really enjoyed it, so I was glad to see the movie earlier this week. First of all, I want to say that the actors were really good. Even the kids…most of the time child actors are not so good. Based on the novel by Harper Lee, the story takes place in the South during the Depression. Atticus Finch is a lawyer who gets the case of Tom Robinson, who has been charged with rape. What follows is a great story about a man trying to protect his children from prejudice and teach them right from wrong, all while trying to get Robinson set free. It sounds serious, and it is, but there is also some humor.
