It’s Halloween. The film opens with Mortimer Brewster, a drama critic, waiting in line to get his marriage license with his soon-to-be wife Elaine. After that, he just has to go and inform his aunts that he has just been married. What he doesn’t know: his aunts have been poisoning lonely old men and burying them in the cellar.
Cary Grant plays Mortimer Brewster, and I think he did such a good job. His character is definitely one of my favorite parts of this movie. Peter Lorre also did a very good job playing Dr. Einstein. I thought it was funny how Jonathan Brewster (Raymond Massey) always got so mad when people said he looked like Boris Karloff. The aunts kind of reminded me of the Addams Family and the Munsters because they thought they were so normal and that everyone else should see them that way. This movie is so good because of the superb cast. If you haven’t already, you must see this!
